Tributes galore for Murali

Galle, July 20: World record holder, Muttiah Muralitharan was accorded a fitting tribute by members of the Indian team when he came out to bat in his last Test. The umpires also joined the guard of honour. Bursting firecrackers filled the Stadium as Murali took guard, possibly for the last time in Tests cricket.

The Sri Lankan team joined in the applause when Murali took field. Another round of crackers, resembling gunshots were fired when Murali bowled his first ball from the Pavilion End.
