Tendulkar planning to build cricket simulator theme parks in India

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is reportedly involved in ambitious plans to build cricket simulator theme parks in major Indian cities.

According to the Daily Mail, a prototype of the attraction that will give cricket fans a virtual reality opportunity to bowl at Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag is being assembled using Hawk-Eye ball-tracking technology in an industrial unit near Winchester, England.

The emergence of Tendulkar’s strong links with the project comes just after he is said to have softened his stance about the use of Hawk-Eye to judge LBW decisions in Test matches.

Hawk-Eye inventor Paul Hawkins, who met Tendulkar before the Lord’s Test, claims to have ended the 38-year-old’s doubts about the system, after explaining how it was operated automatically rather than manually.

“Once we had set the record straight he left saying he would tell the BCCI and recommend Hawk-Eye was used. I don’t think it will take long for the BCCI to act on advice from Tendulkar,” Hawkins said.
