South Africa eye easy victory
Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel made early inroads into the brittle West Indies batting before lunch, to keep South Africa in the hunt for victory in the opening Test on Sunday.
Morkel removed opener Travis Dowlin, and Steyn snared Brendan Nash, as West Indies, chasing 457 for victory, reached 62/2 in their second innings at the interval on the fourth day.
South Africa captain Graeme Smith fell for 90 before his side declared on 206 for four in their second innings. Morkel struck with his first delivery in the second over of the West Indies’ chase, trapping Dowlin lbw.
Steyn added to the West Indies’ misery, when left-hander Nash edged caught behind for 13. — AFP
