Shantanu, Jha script Mt Abu win

A four-wicket haul each by Vikas Jha and Shantanu helped Mount Abu Public School beat Vikas Bharti Public School, Rohini by seven wickets in a Group C league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 inter-school tournament in the capital on Saturday.

Batting first, Vikas Bharti Public School managed a meagre total of 71 in 18.5 overs. Kartik Khatri led the way with 41 even as runs. Jha and Shantanu were creating havoc among the other batsmen.
In reply, Mount Abu Public School chased down the total in 13.2 overs, Sonu Sharma top-scoring with 27 runs. Vikas Jha was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
In Group E, Vidya Jain Public School beat Air Force Bal Bharti, Lodhi Road, by 122 runs.
Vidya Jain won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 186/5 in 35 overs. Vasu Sharma and Paras contributed 68 and 46 runs respectively. Air Force Bal Bharti’s Udit Goyal (2/33) and Apurv’s (2/23) were the leading wicket takers for their team.
In reply, the Air Force school crashed for 64 in 35 overs lost the match by 122 runs as they were bowled out at 64 in 35 overs.
Scores: VBPS 71 in 18.5 overs (Kartik 41; Vikas Jha 4/20, Shantanu 4/33) lost to MAPS 74/3 in 13.2 overs (Sonu Sharma 27, Lovepreet 1/18); VJPS-R 186/5 in 35 overs (Vasu Sharma 68, Paras 46; Udit Goyal 2/33, Apurv 2/23) bt AFBB-LR 64 in 35 overs (Shivam 14; Ayush 3/12).
