Salwan Boys cruise into final
Man of the match Nitin Tanwar’s unbeaten 104 helped Salwan Boys School defeat Mumbai’s Anjuman I-Islam Allana English School by 167 runs and enter the final of the U-16 inter-state leg Coca-Cola Cup at the Jamia grounds here on Monday.
In the final, Salwan take on Uttar Pradesh’s CAV Inter College, who defeated Madhya Pradesh’s Christian Eminent by seven wickets.
Anjuman elected to field first, but Salwan openers Shivam Chouhan 42 (37b, 7x4), and Vikas Dixit 56 (2x4) pu on 98 before Kanwar cut loose with his 120-ball century. Salwan finally tallied 264/2 in 45 overs.
In reply, Anjuman were bundled down for just 97 in 35.3 overs, Suraj Rai taking 4/28 and Anish Ali 2/23.
