Sachin, Yuvi all praise for medallists

New Delhi, Oct. 15: India’s cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Friday congratulated the country’s medal winners at the Commonwealth Games.

“101 congratulations to all our CWG champions. Your hard work and various sacrifices have brought laurels to our nation. U make us proud!!!,” Tendulkar wrote on his Twitter page.

Middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh too joined the applause and made special mention of shuttler Saina Nehwal, who came back from a game down to win the last gold and take India to the second position on the medals table. “CWG was a huge success congrats to Saina... it was inspiring they way she fought till the end… big lessons for us... proud to be an Indian,” Yuvraj wrote.

India for the first time finished second in the Games medals tally, notching up 101 medals, including 38 gold medals.
