No plan to sell Pune Warriors: Sahara chairman
The Sahara Group chairman and managing director Subrata Roy said that he has no plans to sell the Pune Warriors, the IPL cricket team promoted by the group.
Addressing the students and faculty members of the IIM Kozhikode (IIM-K) on Saturday, Mr Roy said that he would not like let the supporters and players of Pune Warriors down, by putting it up for sale.
The future of Pune Warriors was under a cloud after Sahara Group kept off from the IPL auctions held recently.
The group had also withdrawn the sponsorship of Indian Cricket Team.
Earlier Mr Roy said the corporate world has high expectations of students from IIM fraternity.
“The IIM graduates will motivate not only us, but also those around us”, he added.
Later Mr Roy also had a lengthy interactive session with the students of
IIM-K. Debashish Chatterjee, director, IIM-K presided over the event. Mr Roy also unveiled the plaque on Arjuna’s statue in front of the campus and planted a sapling.
