KKR cheerleaders fail to impress in new avatar
The short, pleated skirts, the pom-poms and not to forget the pretty cheerleaders grooving to racy Bollywood tunes.
The cheer girls have been the showstoppers of the IPL over the last four seasons.
The Kolkata Knight Riders cheerleaders too are making head turn, but for their garish costumes. When KKR announced that they would go desi with their cheer gals, few would have expected such a damp squib At the Chinnaswamy stadium the desi cheer girls in purple costumes were an eye-sore.
Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s desi -giri which was aimed at boosting the Indianess may just backfire because just like his larger-than life masala movies SRK should stick to his tried and tested method.
The traditional moves and attire which are so out of sync with slam-bang cricket may not help the King Khan lure the spectators to the matches.
Missing Bazz in the city
Brendon McCullum’s 73-ball 158 in IPL-1 is one of the most memorable knocks in the Garden City.
Though the turnout wasn’t great, for the few thousand spectators who decided to head to the stadium were in for disappointment as the firebrand Kiwi was dropped from the eleven with Shakib al Hasan and Ryan ten Doeschate making the cut. But as the match began, fireworks from Gautam Gambhir and Manvinder Bisla ensured that the fans did not miss Bazz.
Gauti fails to innovate
Cricket is a game of innovation. The advent of T20 has ensured the players are always on the lookout for ways to score runs.
KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir attempted one such audacious shot but it however resulted in his downfall. Gambhir attempted a paddle sweep against Zaheer Khan, but failed to clear short third man. What will the shot be called? Reverse paddle sweep!
