India elect to bat after winning the toss

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against England in the first of the five-match ODI series starting here on Friday.

India have decided to go with three seamers in Praveen Kumar, R Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav along with lone specialist spinner in R Ashwin.

For England, the notable omission from the playing XI is Ian Bell.
