This five-wicket haul is very special: Jadeja
Indiaâs newest âMan Fridayâ Ravindra Jadeja feels that secret of his success lies in âkeeping things simpleâ which helped him get a career-best of 5/36 against the West Indies in a group league of Champions Trophy on Tuesday.
âThis is my best bowling performance and I am very happy about it. I have had three four-wicket hauls, but this one is special. I just tried to keep things simple,â Jadeja said.
âI was just aiming to bowl the right line which I did. The Oval wicket was dry and affording spin and I wasnât surprised by the conditions even if it was overcast,â Jadeja said.
Jadeja said he has worked on his game in the last six months and always tried to keep things simple.
âEarlier, I would strategize too much and get all mixed up. Now I just come for a game and adjust to the conditions and play my best,â he said.
The Saurashtra all-rounder thanked his skipper for showing faith in his abilities.
âMahi bhai is a thinking captain. He can read your abilities very well and I am happy I am doing the job for him,â Jadeja said, adding with a smile: âI still canât figure out why he calls me Sirji.â
He added that fielding has been a big plus for India. âAll our fielders are very good. We donât have a single player whom we need to hide in the field. We have the correct balance in the team and thatâs the biggest advantage for us,â Jadeja said.

Beleaguered Sri Lanka face english test
London, June 12: Sri Lanka will look for a vastly improved batting performance against hosts England on Thursday as they try to stay afloat in the Champions Trophy.
Angelo Mathewsâ team were shot out for 138 against New Zealand in Cardiff on Sunday, and only a four-wicket spell from sling-arm fast bowler Lasith Malinga helped them save face in the narrow one-wicket defeat.
Sri Lanka, World Cup finalists in 2007 and 2011, must now defeat both England and Australia in day-night matches at the Oval to keep their semi-final hopes alive from group A. âI think the whole batting unit has to take responsibility,â Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews said on Wednesday. âWe can't really expect the bowlers to do the job for us everytime.â
England, meanwhile, bounced back from a 2-1 one-day series loss against New Zealand ahead of the tournament to brush aside old foes Australia by 48 runs in their first match.
Alastair Cookâs team go into the match with their preparations overshadowed by David Warner -Joe Root incident.
Cook said Malinga would be the danger man for his side, mainly because of his unusual bowling action.
