The Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium has favoured the Indians in both their encounters played here so far. The ground also holds happy memories for captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who slammed his maiden ODI century in the first game played here. In the second, India romped home to victory over Sri Lanka.
With India batting the first time around and chasing in the second game, the pitch looks set for yet another belter. Officials feel that the pitch will have a lot to offer in terms of entertainment as the ball should come on to the bat nicely.
Some even note that hitting through the line could prove to be beneficial for the batters as the dreaded reverse swing will not be a major factor here.
With the Indians missing out on big names like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, the onus of scoring runs will now be on Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, not to forget Murali Vijay.
On the other side, Michael Clarke, Shaun Marsh and David Warner will be entrusted with raising the runs against a not-so-potent Indian attack sans Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma.
However, a few former Ranji Trophy and international cricketers point out that it all could boil down to the toss as hitting through the line once the batsmen get in will be easy and this would help transfer pressure onto the side playing second.
With the Aussies looking to avenge the Test series loss, this game is not devoid of drama as the boys from Down Under will be at their competitive best. On the other hand, the Indians, driven by victory in the Test series and having not lost a single encounter here so far, will be expected to give it their all to maintain their winning streak.
