India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against England in the first of the five-match ODI series starting here on Friday.

India have decided to go with three seamers in Praveen Kumar, R. Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav along with lone specialist spinner in R. Ashwin.

For England, the notable omission from the playing XI is Ian Bell.
