Cricket in the mall
Beaches — too hot; movies — you might not always get tickets the last minute; pub and parties — not every day; malls — overdone; gym — boring!
We often find ourselves in a fix, when we decide to hang out with friends. Of course, it’s the company that makes the experience interesting, and not the place. But come on, what is life without a pinch of difference.
Adithya Venkataswami has the answer to this — Netz Cricket. “This is a new concept that we have brought to the city for the first time.
Located at the Citi Centre — Level 4, we have an automatic bowling machine, nets and pitches, where cricket lovers practice their batting skills. We have a bowling machine from UK called Bola.
We want to make it a complete experience. We have planned to have lockers and showers for both men and women, and to have membership cards – like a gym. We will be charging Rs 300 for 60 balls,” says Adithya, the CEO of Netz Cricket.
Adithya has a grand launch in mind. “I want it to be a day-long event. The Celebrity Cricket League players will be coming in and playing, along with the public. Actor Simbu is a dear friend and I plan to invite him for the launch,” he says.
If this venture is successful, he plans to expand this concept to other sports as well.
