Coach denies Nehra injured

Indian team manager Ranjib Biswal on Friday categorically denied reports regarding fitness problems related to senior pacer Ashish Nehra which might rule him out of the opening match against Bangladesh here on Saturday. The denial came amidst speculation that a sore groin will keep Nehra out of action against Bangladesh in the

tournament opener. “These reports are not true. As far as we are concerned, he is fit,” Biswal said. In case Nehra is unavailable for selection, S. Sreesanth will be sharing the new ball with Zaheer Khan. —PTI
