Theme it up!

A theme party can be a lot of fun. The clothes, the decorations and accessories can be matched according to the theme. Here are some funky themes you could incorporate in the next party you host:

Bollywood theme party: You’re all bored and need a hatke way to party. Here comes Bollywood to the rescue! You could dress up as your favourite Bollywood star or movie character. Don’t forget to decorate the place with filmi stuff and even posters of movies and filmstars. And the best part has to be the music — hire a DJ to play Bollywood music or turn into a DJ your self and spin some true desi numbers!

Vampire Party: With Twilight and Edward Cullen on everybody’s mind, this has to be one of the ‘coolest’ themes ever! You could dress up as a vampire and even attach some fake fangs. Don’t forget to decorate the place with bottles filled with red juice, indicating bottles of blood for all the thirsty vampires! “I would surely dress up as Edward or Jasper if I attended a vampire party,” says student Suhas R.

Ice cream party: Ganging up with your friends and relishing some delicious ice creams is a super way to beat the heat. If you know how to make ice creams or don’t mind trying, then get together with your friends and do it. Otherwise, you could just buy or order for your favourite flavours and sundaes and take delight in them.

Poker theme: Give each guest poker chips, play money, and dice when they arrive. Set up the table with gold star centerpieces as well as black and red tablecloths. “You could be dress up as a gangster and turn up like one of those shabbily dressed poker players,” laughs student Neetu S.

Hawaiian theme: What better way to beat the summer heat than have a party with the Hawaiian theme? When you’re planning one, don’t forget to get a CD with Hawaiian music. Do serve fruit juices to your guests to keep them cool in the heat and don’t forget to wear colourful and flowery clothes!
