Suicide by UP mom as 3 kids fail exams

Lucknow, April 18: The pressure of schooling has now begun to take a toll on the lives of parents too.
A 32-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping before a train in Agra district after three of her schoolgoing children failed to clear their examinations.

Anjana, a resident of Arjun Nagar, threw herself before a running train near Raja ki Mandi station. She had gone to collect the report cards of her children, studying in Classes and 2 and in kindergarten at Shishu Bharti School.
When she did not come back home, her husband and the neighbours launched a search.
The police later found her body on a railway track with a bag containing three report cards.
All three children had failed in their final examinations, and this is believed to have prompted her to end her life.
Anjana’s husband, who runs a mobile phone repair shop, told the police she was extremely anxious and concerned about the performance of her children.
He also said Anjana told her eldest son she would not come back home if their results were not good, but no one apparently took this seriously.
