Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in France on April 15, 1990. She is the daughter of two British lawyers. At school in England, she took the lead role in several plays including Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince. Besides plays, Emma participated in other school activities including the Daisy Pratt Poetry competition, in which she won first place.
She shot to fame when she played Hermione Granger, in the Harry Potter series. In 1999, casting began for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and casting agents found Watson impressive.
She has also starred in the other Harry Potter films. Wastson has starred in Ballet Shoes, an adaptation of a novel. The 19-year-old actress’ interests include dancing, singing, field hockey, tennis, art and fly fishing.
Her favourite celebrities are Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, John Cleese and Sandra Bullock.
