Pak gives US a new wishlist on weapons

Washington, March 24: Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has submitted a new weapons wishlist to the US, which has a lot of “big ticket” systems. The 56-page wishlist includes equipment that can bring Pakistan at par with India militarily.

After 9/11, Pakistan has got over $7 billion worth of arms from the US, authoritative sources said. US arms for Pakistan since 2001 have included items for counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, plus “big ticket” ones more suited to conventional warfare.     —PTI
