Obama may visit India in August or October

April 17: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said there is a possibility of US President Barack Obama visiting India either in August or in October this year.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who concluded his multilateral visit to the United States and Brazil, said the “world has taken a benign view of India’s rise”.
The Prime Minister also said that “unlike China, the world is not apprehensive about India’s rise and we should take advantage (of this)”.
The Prime Minister, speaking on board Air India One, said “the world wants India to succeed”.
On his way to India after an eight-day visit to the United States and Brazil, the Prime Minister said India also needs to tackle some domestic problems. “India’s problems are at home. We should get our act together. We need to work to remove ignorance, poverty and disease,” he said.
