Looted: 47 Insas rifles, 12 AKs, over 8,900 bullets
New Delhi , April 7: The Naxals who killed 76 CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Tuesday seized a huge amount of arms and ammunition from the slain security personnel.
Arms and ammunition looted by the rebels include 47 Insas rifles, 12 AK-47s, 30 rifle grenades, 41 hand grenades, six light machine guns, 56 magazines for LMGs, 2,600 rounds and four magazines for AK-47s, nearly 6,300 rounds of Insas ammunition, two bullet-proof jackets and 10 wireless sets. The Maoists used AK-47s and LMGs from atop a hillock in Tuesday’s attack.
