What is the perfect way to treat yourself after those gruelling exams? A perfect family holiday! Students are excited about holidaying with their family in exotic places like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and also in their native cities and towns. Summer is not only about travelling with your family, but is also about meeting up with cousins and many students are doing just that.

Natasha Gupta, a student of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, Bengaluru is leaving to Singapore on April 18 with her family. “The four of us will be going there on a cruise. It will be a four-day holiday in Singapore. After that, we will head to Bangkok for five days,” says Natasha, whose family has been planning this holiday since a month. She’s super excited as this will be her first time on a cruise and also first trip abroad. “My parents and sister have gone out of India before, but not me,” she says. Visiting Sentosa Resort Island in Singapore and shopping in Bangkok is what she’s really looking forward to.
For Aditi Vutukuri, a first year Btech student of NITK, it came as a surprise when her parents told her that they will be going on a holiday to Singapore and Malaysia in May. “Four of us will be going on the trip. I’m looking forward to seeing new places, taste new food and do some shopping. We will go after my exams get over. My parents have made a list of places to visit,” says Aditi, adding, “Last year we couldn’t go on a holiday as I had my board exams, and next year my brother will have his tenth grade exams, so this is the perfect time to go.”
Although she’s not going abroad like Natasha and Aditi, BA student Prerna R., will be off to Coorg to visit her cousins. A chilled out two-week holiday with her cousins is what she’s looking forward to.
“I want to just hangout and play with my cousins and the dogs and breathe air that is unpolluted,” she says.
Now whoever came up with the quote, ‘Families are like fudge — mostly sweet with a few nuts’ was so right. If you haven’t already, then it’s time you start planning a trip with those sweet ‘nuts’.
