Amar, Buta security is pruned
New Delhi, Feb. 9: The Centre on Tuesday decided to prune the security cover of expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, Schedule Castes Comm-ission chairman Buta Singh and Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee chief Suresh Pachouri.
Sources said the Z-category security cover given to former external affairs minister Natwar Singh has been significantly reduced. Further, with the appointments of former NSA M.K. Narayanan as governor of West Bengal and former home minister Shivraj Patil as governor of Punjab and administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, the two have become state protectees but will continue to remain on the Central list as of now, the sources revealed.
While Mr Pachouri, a former minister of state, has Z-plus security, expelled SP leader Amar Singh has Z security cover.
