Blind chess player to promote Khet lazer

Mohammed Salih, may be visually challenged but he can take on the best who have the advantage of seeing the game they play.
So good is the youth from Kozhikode at chess that he has been appointed brand ambassador of intelligence interfaces by the firm, Schogini Systems that has developed various variants of the Khet lazer game.
Salih, a FIDE-ranked chess player, gave the inventor of the lazer game, Luke Hooper, a tough fight at a promotional match organised at the Technopark on Saturday. Ask him how he manages to play despite not being able to see and he replies, “I visualise the board and memorise it,” stunning you with his mental abilities.
An impressed Schogini Systems feels appointing him as its brand ambassador will help it take the lazer game forward.
“We have received many valid ideas from Salih on improving our products. In order to empower the blind, Schogini will also bring out The Talking Chess board, Talking Chess Apps, Talking Khet Apps, Colouring Apps and Seeing Apps,” says Schogini Systems managing director, N Sree Prakash.
A law student, Salih has taken part in several chess championships and says he has always been interested in the game.
“I was interested in chess right from primary school. My parents could not afford to send me for any special training in the game and so the only way I learned was by playing with my friends,” he explains.
