Wishes pour in as rosaiah turns 79
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and Tripura Governor D. Y. Patil, telephoned and greeted Governor Konijeti Rosaiah who turned 79 on Wednesday.
Vice-President M. Hamid Ansari, RBI governor Dr. Subbarao, Governors of various states, including Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Haryana besides Union ministers and other dignitaries sent letters greeting Dr Rosaiah on the occasion, according to a Raj Bhavan communiqué.
State Planning Commission Member Prof E. Balagursamy, Andhra Pradesh Press Academy chairman T. Surender, officials, vice-chancellors of various universities, Tamil Nadu MP J. M. Haroon, former AP minister R. Chenga Reddy, Andhra legislators from Chirala, Vijayawada, Nuzvid, MLC Nannapaneni Raj Kumari and Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy, members of various voluntary and social service organisations, students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chennai, and other dignitaries greeted Dr Rosaiah in person.
Earlier the secretary to the Governor, officials and staff of Raj Bhavan greeted the Governor on his birthday. A health camp was also organised in Raj Bhavan for the staff and family members of Raj Bhavan on this occasion.
