US envoy calls Youth congress for talks

The cover story of TIME magazine which projected Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in poor light appears to have provided a chance for a midget group of Congressmen to register loyalty.

The American Consulate in Chennai has reportedly invited senior state Youth Congress (YC) functionaries for talks after nearly a hundred of them attempted to picket the premises on Cathedral Road on Tuesday.

Youth Congress functionaries told Deccan Chronicle that consul authorities phoned to invite them for talks before the weekend in this connection.

However, they settled for Monday owing to non-availability of important Youth Congress functionaries before the weekend, a YC functionary said.

The Youth Congress functionaries are planning to submit a memorandum to the consul general during the meeting.
