Two held on US consulate’s alert

Two persons who tried to get travel documents from the US consulate to fly to USA posing as husband and wife were arrested by the city police based on an alert from the foreign mission.

The arrested were identified as Anand, 42, of Bengaluru and Sheela of Gujarat. “It seems the agent had asked them to pose as man and wife and readied fake documents for them to travel to the US.

The officials at the US consulate detected the fraud and informed us. Based on the alert, we arrested the two,” the police said. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
