TTDC plans 108 amman temple tour
Coinciding with the auspicious Tamil month of Aadi, when the temples wear a festive look, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Corporation (TTDC) will launch the Shakthi tours to 108 Amman temples in the state on July 16 in order to help the devotes offer worship at the Amman temples.
As Aadi is dedicated to Amman, this five-day tour of 108 Amman temples will facilitate the pilgrims to have darshan of the diversified incarnations of Maha Sakthi.
This tour, will start from here on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 a.m. and return the following Friday \ Monday at 9 p.m. The tariff is Rs 4,300 per person. State tourism minister S. Gokula Indira will launch the tour.
In addition, the corporation would organise one-day Sakthi tour (Deviar Darshan) to nine Amman temples in the city during this month on every Tuesday, Friday, Sunday and fullmoon day.
Commencing from July 16, the one-day tour, covers Thiruvudai Amman, Vadivudai Amman and Kodiyidai Amman temples. Priced at Rs 375 per person, the tour begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
The Sakthi tour will cover Mangadu, Thiruverkadu, Poonamallee, Tirumullaivoyil, Chempulivaram, Panchatti, Melur and Tiruvottiyur temples and it begins at 7 a.m. and return at 7 p.m.The tariff is Rs 470. Earlier, Ms Gokula Indira, state Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment minister M.S.M. Anandan reviewed the arrangements being made to promote this religious tourism.
