Trees fall, roads flooded as rain, wind lash Chennai
Chennaiites can expect a few spells of rain on Monday.
As strong winds accompanied rain, a tree near KMC was uprooted, reducing traffic flow on Poonamallee high road.
Another tree fell across Nelson Manickam road, forcing police to divert vehicles onto the Namasivayam bridge.
“The city received a good amount of rainfall on Sunday, thanks to the heavy cloud formation over northern TN. It may rain for two days, but this weather will not persist,” says Dr Y.E.A. Raj, deputy director general of meteorology, here.
