Train hits lawyer talking on phone

The ugly habit of talking on phone while driving landed a lawyer practicing in the Kancheepuram court in hospital Tuesday.

R. Dass, 35, suffered serious injuries after a Chennai-Tirumalpur EMU dragged his Tata Indica nearly half-a-km at unmanned level crossing number 24 at Nathapettai, 65 km from Chennai, around 9.45 am.

He was going to his native Puliymabakkam village. “It seems the lawyer was talking on phone when the mishap happened,” police quoted eyewitnesses.
