Rs 19l ketamine seized at city airport
Security personnel at the airport have seized about 1.9 kg of ketamine, valued at Rs 19 lakh in the internationalmarket, that was being smuggled to Singapore under the guise of “masala powder” at midnight last night.
Security personnel who scanned the cargo of a Singapore Airlines flight opened two boxes on suspicion and found sachets marked “masala powder” containing ketamine, airport sources said.
The boxes had come through Speedpost and the consignment was immediately handed over to the Customs department for investigation.
Inquiries by Customs officials revealed that the addresses on the consignment was false. It is not known who had attempted to ship the ketamine to Singapore.
This is the third time since July 21 that airport security personnel had seized the drug.
