New way to celebrate Teacher’s Day
A Chennai-based educational services organisation has distributed wrist-bands to about one million students across 5,000 schools on which the students will write individual messages before tying the bands on their teacher’s wrists on September 5.
The eagerness to honour teachers has been overwhelming and the initiative to celebrate Teacher’s Day in a unique manner was well received by all stakeholders in schools, said Chitra Ravi, founder and chief executive officer, EZ Vidya.
Encouraged by the trend, the organisation has started Chrysalis Teacher’s Day Facebook Contest, which enables users to post innovate images and win gift vouchers. Ten best images received from teachers will be declared winners in the contest that seeks to involve tech-savvy teachers.
The winners shall be given gift vouchers of `1,000, Chitra Ravi said.
“All of us have been students at some stage of our life and have benefited from our teachers. The celebration of Teacher’s Day is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to show our gratitude to our teachers,” she said.
