Miscreants set MLA’S car on fire
Tension prevailed in Tiruvallur when a car belonging to a DMDK MLA was found burnt on Wednesday morning.
Police suspects that the MLA might have reportedly incurred the wrath of people after he tried to stop them from smuggling sand.
The car belonged to Arun Subramanian, 51, DMDK MLA of Tirutani constituency, who resides at Manavalan Nagar in Tiruvallur.
He owns a piece of land in Varadharajapuram and on Tuesday he went in his car to take a look at it. Around the same time, he spotted a group smuggling sand from a vacant land nearby.
He warned the group to leave the premises but an argument broke out between the group and the politician.
“When the argument heated up, the MLA and his driver left the car behind and went home. But within a few hours he found that someone had set his car on fire,” police said.
