Mango milk shake from aavin’s stable
Cashing in on the summer season, the state government owned Aavin has launched mango milk shake drink.
Launching the mango milk shake priced Rs15 per 200 ml pack at the Ambattur product dairy farm here on Monday evening, state milk and dairy development minister V. Moorthy said the new product would fulfill the desire of mango lovers.
The move would also ensure a ready market for mango growers of Salem and Krishnagiri for whom chief minister J. Jayalalithaa had announced a slew of schemes.
A kulfi making machine installed at the cost of Rs10 lakh was inaugurated on the occasion. This could make 1,000 ice creams in one hour and thus augment the kulfi ice cream making capacity to 25,000 from a mere 7,000 for the city and neighbourhood.
Similarly, steps have been taken to increase the production of cup and family pack ice cream. On the cards is shrikhand and milk peda. Aavin has already increased the production of strawberry, mango and date flavoured yoghurts.
Tenders have been floated for installing additional products making machinery at Ambattur at an outlay of Rs12 crore.
