Man’s body hanging from train engine
The body of a young man was found hanging from the front portion of the engine of Tiruchy-bound Pallavan Express that reached Chengalpet railway station on Thursday evening.
“The head of the body was damaged beyond recognition. The body was hanging from a protruding portion of the engine,” the railway police said on Friday.
The police is trying to find out if the deceased was a techie working in Mahindra City in Maraimalai Nagar.
According to the motorman of the train, a man jumped in front of the train just before the train reached Paranur. “The train as usual went without stopping at Paranur.
But a peanut vendor at the station noticed the body hanging in front of the train and informed the railway staff. The train was stopped at Chengalpet and the body was removed,” police said.
“It looks like a case of suicide. The identity of the deceased is not yet ascertained We are trying to find out if he was working in any of the software firms,” police said.
