Man held with Rs 7.8 lakh hawala cash

A 49-year-old man from Mannadi in the city was arrested by police in suburban Tambaram on charges of carrying Rs 7.8 lakh hawala money to Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram on Wednesday night.

Mohamed Ansari was caught by the police at the Tambaram bus stand as they felt he was behaving in a suspicious manner.
