Governor suggests special cell to check ragging
With an aim to make campuses ragging free in the state, Governor K. Rosaiah, on Monday suggested that state police create a special cell to handle ragging-related complaints.
Mr Rosaiah, who is also the chancellor and chairman of state level monitoring cell on ragging, reviewed the measures adopted in the state to eradicate the menace of ragging on campuses.
A Raj Bhavan release said, the Governor has asked the district-level committees to device special formats to seek data from educational institutions. These committees will forward the reports to the SLMC on a quarterly basis.
Mr Rosaiah also recommended that institutions print anti-ragging toll-free complaint numbers and the website address www.antiragging.in, on the college website and on the identity cards of all students for ready reference.
