Working to the fullest capacities without worrying about the results will help to accomplish great tasks, chief minister J. Jayalalitha said while solemnising the marriages of four couples – the children of party leaders.

“If one strives hard to one’s fullest capacities, without worrying about the results, then the blessings from the Almighty will come to help one to achieve the noble goal,” she said after narrating a tale.

“This (advice) not applies to the newlyweds but also to my beloved party workers. Success is sure to follow,” she said in an veiled reference to the Pudukottai by-elections where the rank and file in the party including Ms Jayalalithaa had hectically campaigned.

The chief minister said that she was ceaselessly striving to make Tamil Nadu the No.1 state in India. She said she was happy to solemnise the marriages of sons and daughters of four persons who have been working hard for the party.

The wards of four AIADMK office-bearers, Chairman presidium of Dindigul district Dindigul C. Sreenivasan, Tiruchy district secretary and legislator R. Manoharan, Salem district secretary and legislator M.K. Selvaraju and Kunnam constituency secretary Muthamizhselvam, had tied the knots in the presence of AIADMK supremo and chief minister J. Jayalalithaa.

Greeting the couples on her behalf and also on behalf of one-and-a-half crore AIADMK workers, she said the greetings from the party members were the best wedding gifts for the couples.

“Marriage is an occasion which blends two souls into one. It is an opportunity to share true love and affection...they should be supportive of each other,” she said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
