Fire at abhirami mall

A fire that broke out in the canteen of a mall on Puruasaiwalkam High Road early on Monday morning was doused by fire tenders, which fought for nearly two hours.

The fire broke out when a light was switched on in the canteen attached to a theatre inside the Abhirami mega mall in the morning. Nobody was injured in the mishap, as there were no visitors at the mall or theatre at that time.

Fire tenders from four fire stations rushed to the spot to douse the flames before it spread to the theatres and other facilities inside the mall.

Abhirami Ramanathan, film producer and owner of the mall told reporters that fire fighters doused the fire on time and the mall would function as usual on Monday.
