Exam cheats to be barred for life
Hundreds of candidates who are believed to have accessed leaked question paper in group-II examination conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in August will be barred from appearing for any TNPSC tests in the future.
“There will be hundreds of them. We have not yet arrived on the final figure,” said a senior TNPSC official on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the government handed over the probe into the TNPSC question paper leak to CBCID on Saturday night.
The TNPSC officials believe that they can easily find out the answer papers that were answered using leaked question papers.
“With ground-level probe by the police and answer sheets scrutiny by us, it will be possible to find out the candidates who had access to the leaked question paper,” the official added.
A TNPSC team is in the process of filtering of answer sheets to get the final number of candidates who had used leaked question papers.
The state police which began the probe soon after it came to know that the question paper was leaked, arrested 22 people, including a woman, in connection with the incident. Two others surrendered.
Police said that the question paper was sold for a price ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh, mainly in districts like Erode, Dharmapuri, Namakkal and Theni.
