Elaborate set-up fools job seekers
The fake RRB has a website and has its recruiting agents all over the country.
Agents collect the money and take job aspirants to Kolkata to write the test. As soon as the candidate reaches Kolkata, a vehicle takes them to the “examination centre”.
After the examination, the candidates are asked to check the result on the website www.irrbk.org, which is a fake. The website would show that the candidate has been selected.
The candidates are then asked to undergo a medical test at the railway hospital where each of them is asked to pay Rs 20,000.
After the medical check is over, the selected candidates are taken to a centre in Halibur, where they are given “appointment letters” and “orientation training” for two weeks.
The candidates are given an identity card and sent back with the assurance that they will soon get intimation about the date of joining. However, that intimation never comes.
According to a victim, the tests and medical check up are usually done at the facilities run by Eastern Railway and that makes job aspirants feel everything is proper.
“I was approached by an agent who promised to get us a railway job if we paid `6 lakh. He told us that initially the job would be based in Kolkata and that we would get a transfer after a few years,” one of the victims from Dharmapuri told Deccan Chronicle.
Many of the victims, who are yet to get over the shock, are hesitant to talk about the ordeal they faced in the name of getting a railway job.
“The CBI officials said that they would try to get back the money,” another victim of the railway job scam said.
