Court orders summons to MKarunanidhi on Jayalalithaa plea
A sessions court on Wednesday ordered issuance of summons to DMK president M. Karunanidhi, party treasurer M.K. Stalin, DMDK president and leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijaykant and PMK founder S. Ramadoss for their appearance before the court on various dates in October in connection with the defamation complaints filed by Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa.
Principal sessions judge P. Kalaiarasan ordered issuance of summons to Karunanidhi and printer, publisher and editor of DMK party organ Murasoli to appear before the court on October 10 in connection with a defamation complaint for publishing a defamatory article in the Tamil daily dated July 30, 2012.
The judge ordered issuance of summons to Stalin and printer, publisher and editor of Times of India to appear before the court on October 10 in connection with a defamation complaint for publishing a defamatory news item in its edition dated August 2.
Stalin and printer, publisher and editor of Murasoli were summoned to appear before the court on October 10 in connection with a defamation complaint for publishing a defamatory statement of Stalin in its edition dated August 9.
The judge also ordered issuance of summons to Vijaykant and printer, publisher and editor of The Hindu to appear before the court on October 15 in connection with a defamation complaint for publishing a defamatory news item in its edition dated August 1.
The judge ordered issuance of summons to Ramadoss and printer, publisher, editor and reporter of Ananda Vikatan to appear before the court on October 9.
