Cop’s son arrested for making fake Ids
Three persons, including a son of a retired policeman, were arrested for making fake documents, including voter’s identity cards, in Chennai to procure loan from finance companies.
The arrested were identified as Nandakumar, 31, of K.K. Nagar, son of a retired head constable, Johnson, 28, from Pallavaram and Ambazhagan, 42, of Taramani.
Nandakumar, a post graduate unemployed youth, and his friends had used computer technology to make a fake voter identity card.
“He had used another person’s ID and replaced the photograph with his picture,” the police said.
When the finance company checked with the Election Commission, it found that the image and voter ID number did not match.
The police learnt about the fraud after the manager of a private finance company lodged a complaint saying that Nandakumar had filed a fake voter’s identity card as a document along with aloan application.
Sleuths from the Chennai Central Crime Branch found the allegation that Nandakumar had submitted a fake voter ID along with the loan application to be true and arrested him.
