City’s paper leak link confirmed
While the police is still hunting for the kingpin in the TNPSC Group-II paper leak case, the police on Wednesday confirmed the Chennai link and found that the e-mail consisting of key questions originated from here.
A team of policemen from Erode is in Chennai following the confession of a suspect that he got the question paper from Balan who is reportedly at large.
Six persons have been arrested in the case and cops are conducting inquiries with 10 others. The probe team initially arrested educated touts and candidates from Erode, Dharmapuri and Tiruvannamalai. Later they also inquired suspects from Namakkal, Dindigul and Theni.
Following reports that the first e-mail with the key questions had leaked from Chennai, the cyber network was traced and it was found that Balan from Vyasarpadi was the source behind the e-mail.
The police also uncovered a network that involved former staff from the commission and some coaching centre owners.
When contacted, TNPSC chairman Mr R. Nataraj said that action would be initiated against those involved.
“This is a very common racket perpetrated by those who aim to make a quick buck. Our focus is to make sure such incidents do not get repeated,” he added.
