Chennai to get rain Thursday: Met officials

While the met officials are expecting rain on Thursday, they say that the models are not showing any active rainfall spell across the state for the next three or four days.

“We are not anticipating continuous rains in the next few days. There could be some rain in the Chennai neighbourhood. But even that would subside by Friday,” said Dr Y. E. A. Raj, deputy director general of Meteorology, Regional Meteorological Centre.

On Wednesday, Kattupakkam in Thiruvallur district recorded 25 mm of rainfall, while Anna University and Madhavaram registered 11 mm and 9 mm rains respectively.

For a 24-hours period ending 8.30 am on Wednesday, Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district, Perungalur in Pudukkottai district, Valparai in Coimbatore district and Vanur in Villupuram district recorded 3 cm rains.
