CEO lists out Dos and Don’ts to parties for Pudukottai bypoll
State chief electoral officer Praveen Kumar has imposed a series of regulations that are to be adhered by political parties and candidates from 5 pm on June 10 till end of Pudukottai by polls, scheduled for June 12.
In a release, Mr Praveen Kumar said no one should convene or hold or attend any public meeting or procession in connection with election and display any election matter by means of cinematograph, television or other similar apparatus.
Kalyana mandapams, community halls, lodges and guest houses would be checked to find out whether outsiders had been accommodated.
“Check posts will be set up in the constituency borders to track the vehicular movement from outside the constituency,” Mr Kumar said.
He added that all political functionaries and party workers who were brought from outside the constituency and who were not voters of the constituency should leave the place immediately after 5pm on June 10. “Vehicles should not be hired by anybody to transport the voters,” he added.
