Astronaut seeks to lift cloud of doubt on moon landing
US astronaut Marsha Ivins sought to deny Monday claims by some film-makers and websites that no American ever set foot on the moon but were videographed in a Nasa studio.
Delivering a lecture at B.S. Abdur Rahman University in Chennai, she said: “They [scientists and movie-makers] say one can see a shadow on moon and our videos show shadow which proves we never landed on moon. It is wrong, we do have shadows on moon as we are arranged to be on its daylight portion.”
Pointing out that 28 earth days made a lunar day, Ms Ivins said all
pictures taken by Nasa were true and the space agency had several successful moon missions.
