Access CM on web to appeal
Going the extra mile to ensure prompt redressing of public grievances and also to keep them updated on the action taken by the government on their plaints, chief minister J. Jayalalithaa on Sunday inaugurated a website http://cmcell.tn.gov.in and SMS facility exclusively for the Chief Minister’s Special Cell.
The move will enable the public to file their grievances and complaints without any difficulty. According to an official release, the Chief Minister’s Special Cell operates with the sole purpose of prompt reach of welfare measures initiated by the state government for the common man and to provide a means to express their grievances.
On an average, the cell receives about 3,000 to 3,500 complaints everyday, through post, e-mail and other modes and action is being taken on all the complaints after studying them.
In order to ensure immediate action on the complaints, the website was inaugurated Sunday. Those who file complaints would get an instant acknowledgement through mail along with the registration number. The initiative will help handle the petitions electronically.
This will also help to quickly refer complaints to the relevant departments while the petitioner will be kept informed through e-mail and SMS, the release said.
