11.44l students to appear for samacheer exam
A total of 11.44 lakh candidates will appear for class 10 examinations under Samacheer Kalvi at about 3,000 exam centres in the state from Wednesday. The exam will start on April 4 with language paper and end with social science on April 23.
As many as 13,176 boys and 6,393 girls will appear as private candidates under the new syllabus and 44,284 boys and 17,175 girls would take it up under the old syllabus.
Only those private candidates who attended practical examinations last month under the new syllabus were given hall tickets.
A senior official of the directorate of the government examination said the directorate had formed special teams with over 1,000 persons with district chief educational officers as heads to monitor smooth conduct of the examination.
Apart from officials of the school education department, district collectors, sub-collectors, police officers and other senior officers would inspect examination centres.
This year, student’s photograph have been printed on hall tickets to prevent exam-related malpractices.
