Actress Salma Hayek says she had to prove she was tough enough to play the head of a drug cartel in Oliver Stone’s upcoming crime thriller ‘Savages’.

Salma Hayek says she doesn’t depend on her billionaire husband for money and loves having her own financial independence. The 45-year-old, who is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault and has a four-year-old daughter Valentina, said she is happy to have Pinault's support when she is experiencing troubles but makes her own living, reported InStyle magazine.

Actress Salma Hayek says she is not in favour of plastic surgery and one should embrace the aging process naturally. "I believe that every woman is entitled to fight to preserve her youth," Hayek told Allure magazine.
