Sri Lankan troops found 11 bodies of convicts on Saturday raising the death toll in an overnight prison riot in the capital to 27, minister said.

Two prisoners were killed and 15 prison staff were taken hostage during a protest on Friday by inmates of the Hyderabad Central Jail in southern Pakistan, where high-profile terrorists are being held.

As many as 143 of the 384 inmates who fled a prison in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province following an audacious Taliban attack are back in jail, an official said.
